MOULTRIE, Ga. – Dr. Todd Trebony has announced that he will be leaving Internal Medicine of Moultrie and starting a medical spa in Camilla, Ga. On Thursday night, many colleagues and former patients came out to support him during a farewell event.
Trebony has been with Sterling Internal Medicine — now formally Internal Medicine of Moultrie —for 22 years. He began his career in internal medicine 25 years ago in Savannah, Ga.
“I basically have been doing weight loss since 2007, and I’ve had a couple of weight-loss clinics, which involve preventative care and more natural health, integrative medicine and things like that. I just noticed that as I started learning more about the different types of injections — Botox fillers, platelet rich plasma — I noticed that skin health was never taught much in medical school. Skin health is very important. I enjoy people walking out not just feeling healthy but feeling like they look their best,” said Trebony. “I just started doing that in the last three years and now I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve started training healthcare professionals on how to do it. Now I want to go full-time.”
Skincare started out as a hobby and an interest for Trebony. As he received more training, the processes just seemed to come naturally to him, he said, and he realized he possessed a talent for it. Trebony’s medical spa will be opening in Camilla, but he expressed hopes to expand to other cities as well.
“I may one day in the future have a satellite office here in Moultrie, because Moultrie’s been my home for so many years, but I wanted to start in a smaller location that is more central to the area such as Albany and Thomasville and Moultrie. I hope for it to do really well,” said Trebony. “I feel like if you love something, you have the potential to do well. And I’ve finally found a niche that I love.”
Some of the spa’s services include Botox and dermal fillers, male and female hormone pellet therapy and weight loss. During the farewell event, Trebony joked with patients that he would even make them look 20 years younger.
“I’ve enjoyed the 2600 patients that I’ve seen all these years and maybe more that I’ve seen in the hospital, and I just want to thank them for believing in me and most of them listening to me, and really not just becoming my patients but my friends to some extent. I just want to thank them,” Trebony said.
The spa, Juvenescence, will be opening in Camilla on Jan. 7.
