According to Investigator Randy Rakestraw, a Moultrie police officer attempted a traffic stop Friday evening and pulled Edwards over at Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Third Avenue N.W. When he approached the vehicle, he reportedly smelled the strong scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officer had Edwards step out of the vehicle and requested additional units while he searched the truck.

During the process of searching Edwards’ truck, officers report that Edwards attempted to flee on foot. After a brief chase, they caught him and brought him back to the vehicle while they continued to search his truck. One pound of marijuana was found in the truck along with several oxycodone pills.
