LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Sure who I want to win

All indications are showing that Boris Johnson will be the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom this Thursday. The question is how big a majority will he get? If he has a comfortable majority in the House of Commons, the UK Parliament will go back to conduct its business by first getting out of the European Union and secondly by making great trade deals with other nations.

The British people had enough of the anti-Americanism of the Labour Party and its leader Jeremy Corbyn. The Labour leader talks exactly like other tyrannical world leaders blaming America for everything. He is also in trouble with the British Jewish community because all his political life he has been an anti-Israel. Only a couple of weeks ago, the Chief Rabbi denounced the Labour Party on anti-Semitism.

Jeremy Corbyn claims that Boris Johnson is going to sell off the British National Health Service and give away billions to Americans like it is a one-way street.

The USA is the biggest export market for the UK and we are the 7th largest trading partner of the USA. According to the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the total trade (both ways) with the UK was 127.1 billion in 2018. These two nations are trading big numbers, in fact we export twice as much to the USA then Germany and yet there is no Trade Agreement between the two countries.

I don’t think we need a trade agreement to flourish our businesses both in the USA and the UK. But the option will be there once we leave the European Union. It was the European Union who restricted to carry out our own trade agreements.

It sounds like 2020 will be a very important year for the trade relationship of the UK and the USA.

Remember Nancy Pelosi’s warning for Boris Johnson that Congress will block any trade deal between the UK and US if that threatens peace in Northern Ireland versus what President Trump has said which was to sign an agreement as soon as possible. I cannot speak for the whole 17.4 million Brits who voted to leave the EU in 2016 like myself, but I am pretty sure which Party we would want to win in the USA next November.
