Love Light ceremony set for Tuesday

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation’s annual Love Light ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 5:30 p.m. The ceremonial lighting of the Love Light tree will take place in the Kate Jeter Serenity Garden at Colquitt Regional and is open to the community. The R.B. Wright Ringers will perform songs of the season.

Love Light donations are still being accepted to honor or remember a loved one during the holiday season, the hospital said in a press release. Super star lights are available for a contribution of $100, star lights are available for $50, love lights are available for $25, and special care lights are available for $10. All contributions are tax-deductible.

For each person that is commemorated, an acknowledgement card will be mailed to them (for gifts over $25) and will appear in the Moultrie Observer on Christmas day.

The Walter E. Harrison, Jr. Humanitarian Award recipient will also be announced during the ceremony. This award recognizes an individual healthcare worker who demonstrates a commitment to compassionate health care service and community outreach. The 2018 recipient of the award was David Spence, RT (R, ARRT).

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Nora Manning Visitors Lobby located adjacent to the garden.
