MOULTRIE, Ga. — John Benning DAR recently presented a check to USO Headquarters in Washington, DC, with proceeds from the highly successful USO Tribute Show held several months ago.
The show, a collaborative endeavor with the Colquitt County Arts Center, was in honor of Vietnam veterans as part of the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War. The three-performance event featured local talent performing music popular during this time period.
“We were able to make this gift to USO to further their support of active military personnel because of the generous support of the community as patrons and sponsors,” said Nancy Coleman, Regent of the John Benning Chapter.
Participating in the gift presentation were Beth Rogers, Roberta Moak, Mickie Hancock, Charlotte Dempsey, Jenni Carter, Suzanne Leimer, Linda Jackson, Susan Turner, Jean Gay, Nancy Coleman, Larue Norris and Janice Barry.
