Workshop teaches students how to get, keep a job

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Devin McNeal, foreground, was among Wendy Murphy’s Coordinated Career Academic Education students who recently completed a three-day workshop with New Hire Solutions to prepare them for the workforce.

The students learned and practiced employability skills, completed an application and resume, and participated in mock interviews. Soft skills are considered to be those required to get along well with co-workers, managers, and clients. Soft skills include communication, critical thinking, a positive attitude, teamwork and work ethics. Employers also look for willingness to learn and good attendance.
