DALTON, Ga. — A Nashville, Tennessee, woman faces a second-degree homicide by vehicle charge following a six-vehicle crash on I-75 in Dalton Saturday night that left a teenage passenger in her vehicle dead.

Adreneyonia Demay Ensley, 22, was booked into the Whitfield County Jail Saturday on charges of second-degree homicide by vehicle, failure to yield when entering or crossing a roadway, driving with a suspended or revoked license and operating a motor vehicle without proper tag or decal.

The accident happened at 7:08 p.m. near mile marker 332, according to a Georgia State Patrol report.

A 2009 Ford Focus Ensley was driving was parked on the left shoulder of southbound I-75. Ensley “failed to yield to traffic while merging from the left shoulder into the left left outside lane of traffic.” The Focus was hit by a Honda CRVS in the rear. A Jeep Utility then struck the Focus on the side. A Nissan Xterra then struck the Focus on its side. A Chevrolet box truck then hit the Focus on the side. Finally, an International truck hit the Focus on its side.

The report says Deandria Fletcher, 18, also from Nashville, a rear seat passenger in the Focus, was taken to Hamilton Medical Center with a fatal injury. Ensley, a second passenger in her vehicle, and the drivers of all of the other vehicles were listed as having “suspected serious injury.” None were taken to a hospital.

Ensley was released from the Whitfield County Jail Sunday on a $5,000 bond.
