THOMASVILLE, Ga. — If your dog is overweight, you probably aren’t getting enough exercise. Join Miss Kitty for Paws in the Park, a walk around Lake Cherokee on Nov. 9.
Miss Kitty Feline Sanctuary, the South Georgia Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic, Miss Kitty’s Fabulous Finds, and Thomasville ThomCats are sponsoring the walk for dogs and their companions and a microchip clinic for cats and dogs at Cherokee Park. This is not a race, so come whenever you like between 8 and 11 a.m. to walk at your own pace.
To participate, dogs must be older than six months, leashed on a non-retractable leash, and up to date on their rabies vaccines. Non-retractable leashes will be available for any dog needing one.
A microchip is offered as part of the event package, or you can bring your pet cat or dog just to get a microchip for only $10.
Proceeds from the event will be used to spay and neuter community cats and Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society dogs to help make them ready for adoption.
Register at local races.com by midnight Nov. 7 and save $5. Onsite registration is $30.
