GEAR students excel at Georgia National Fair

- GEAR students used their engineering design process to create design for the Georgia National Fair.
PERRY, Ga. — Students from GEAR in Moultrie used their engineering design process to create design for the Georgia National Fair. The theme was “If at First You Don’t Succeed, Try, Try Again” Youth division age 8-12 category “Head Over Heels.” Students were given various plant material to research common name and scientific name. Instructions were to cover a head form not to exceed 18-by-12-inches. Entries were judged by Nationally Certified Floral judges at the Perry Fairgrounds. Ribbons were awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Top awards received had to score 98-100 points. GEAR students brought home multiple top awards for design and cut horticulture specimens.
