MOULTRIE, Ga. — The atrium of Southern Regional Technical College – Moultrie bustled Oct. 1 with well-wishers from the community, including representatives from several Moultrie and Colquitt County organizations.

The Presidential Welcome Reception was a well-attended event, thanks in part to Mayor Bill McIntosh’s decision to shift Tuesday’s City Council meeting, allowing the councilmembers an opportunity to congratulate Jim Glass on his new position as president of SRTC.

“Moultrie is such a warm, friendly city,” Glass said. “I appreciate that the folks here have always welcomed me and treated me as one of their own. It has been rewarding to witness Moultrie grow and develop over the years while maintaining the hometown pride that makes this town so special. SRTC is proud to be a factor in that growth. This college is committed to providing the kind of workforce development that is vital to support business and industry growth in dynamic communities like Moultrie, Ga.”
