MOULTRIE – Steven Krajewski completed 22-of-33 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns in UConn’s 56-21 loss to Central Florida last Saturday in Orlando, but he also suffered an injury in the game and will be out 6-8 weeks.

Coach Randy Edsall had announced the redshirt freshman Krajewski would be UConn’s starting quarterback. The coach then took to Twitter to reveal that Krajewski suffered a broken clavicle in the first quarter against UCF and will require 6-8 weeks to recover from surgery.

“Steven Krajewski will be out for @UConnFootball the next 6 to 8 weeks, due to a fractured clavicle,” Coach Randy Edsall tweeted at 3:33 p.m. Monday. “Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Mike Beaudry will be the starter and Jack Zergiotis will be the backup.”

The Huskies fell to 1-3 and will be home to face South Florida on Saturday.

• Ty Lee caught two passes for 16 yards in Middle Tennessee State’s 48-3 loss at Iowa last week and now has set the school record for making a reception in 44 straight games.

The previous record of 43 had been held since 2001 by Kendall Newson.

The all-time NCAA record is 54 games, which Lee could equal if Middle Tennessee reaches the Conference USA championship game.

The former Packer has 14 catches for 151 yards this season for the 1-3 Blue Raiders, who will play at home against Marshall in the C-USA opener.

• Landon Scott and Ian Brinson continued to start for Lenoir-Rhyne last Saturday in the Bears’ 56-28 victory over Mars Hill.

Scott, who plays safety, had three assisted tackles.

The Bears, now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in conference games, will host UVA-Wise in their Homecoming Game on Saturday.

• Kaleb Dawson had three solo tackles for Appalachian State Saturday in the Mountaineers’ 56-37 victory over Coastal Carolina.

Now 4-0, ASU will play next on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Louisiana.

• Tory Ponder had three pass receptions for 31 yards in Tusculum’s 30-20 loss at Newberry last Saturday.

The Pioneers will play host to Wingate on Saturday for Homecoming.

• In Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s 38-20 win over Copiah-Lincoln last week, Brian Merritt had a solo tackle.

The Bulldogs’ Homecoming game will be played on Saturday against Southwest Mississippi College.

• Ty Phillips started at nose tackle for Georgia Southern in the Eagles’ 37-24 loss at Louisiana and had one solo and three assisted tackles.

Southern is now 1-3.

• T.J. Smith had a sack for Arkansas in the Razorbacks’ 31-27 loss at Texas A&M last week.

Arkansas, now 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the SEC, will play next on Oct. 12 at Kentucky.

• Other former Packers who participated with their teams last Saturday were John Samuel Shenker, Auburn; Noah Hightower and Marvion McDonald, Shorter; Samari Louis, Georgia Military College; and Rashard Revels, UAB.

• Moultrie native Seth Roberts, who played high school football at Maclay High in Tallahassee and collegiately at West Alabama, had a season-best four catches for 36 yards for Baltimore in the Ravens’ 40-25 loss to the Brown last Sunday.

The Ravens, now 2-2, will play at Pittsburgh on Sunday.

• Cameron Erving started his second-straight game of the season for the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday in a 34-30 victory over Detroit. It was Erving’s 36th National Football League start.

The 4-0 Chiefs will play host to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

• Jamiyus Pittman remains on the Miami Dolphins practice squad.
