MOULTRIE – Already setting the school record for career rushing yards Friday, Colquitt County High senior Daijun Edwards eclipsed a second Colquitt County High all-time record as the No. 4 Packers were rolling by No. 1 Grayson on Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium.

In the second half, Edwards first scored on a 32-yard run from scrimmage. On the first play of the fourth quarter, Edwards caught a swing pass from Jaycee Harden and sped 48 yards for his second TD of the game.

Those scores gave Edwards 60 for his career breaking the previous record of 59 held by Sihiem King. Ironically, it was also King’s career rushing record (3,787 yards) that Edwards broke, and through three quarters he gained 104 yards on the ground for 3,875.

The Packers led Grayson 31-7 after three periods.
