MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie man faces multiple drug charges following a traffic stop Sept. 10.

Moultrie-Colquitt County Drug Enforcement Team Investigator Ivon Folsom stated that Moultrie police Officer Dylan Thompson made a traffic stop about 11 p.m. on Veterans Parkway at Park Avenue and smelled marijuana coming from Anthony Giddens’ vehicle.

Shortly after, a Colquitt County deputy arrived on scene to assist the officer and together they got the driver out of the vehicle.

They searched the vehicle and found a quantity of methamphetamine, said Folsom, who was then brought onto the scene and identified marijuana, crack cocaine, various pills and a substantial amount of cash.

More than 35 ounces of meth were identified. Two handguns were also found in the search. One of the handguns had been stolen, Folsom said.

Giddens, of 94 Fourth Ave. N.W., was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of firearms by convicted felon, violation of Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act (Schedule 4 drug) and trafficking in methamphetamine.
