MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Moultrie-Colquitt County Drug Enforcement Team was involved in two recent drug arrests, one following a traffic stop and the other after a woman was found passed out in a store parking lot.

Shondate Nicole Spicer, 35, of Moultrie, was charged Sept. 4 with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Drug Enforcement Team Investigator Justin Searcy said that he was called to the Chevron gas station, 1350 N. Veterans Parkway, at 11:22 p.m., and made a traffic stop on a vehicle for defective equipment.

As he tried to speak with the female driver, a passenger fled the scene on foot. Spicer was arrested after over two ounces of marijuana were located inside the vehicle.

Spicer was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

In the second incident, Courtney Cantrell of Doerun was charged Sept. 9 with possession of methamphetamine.

Drug Enforcement Team Investigator Randy Rakestraw reported that Cantrell was found in her car in the parking lot of Dollar General, 765 W. Broad St. in Doerun. Cantrell had been passed out for about an hour before authorities were notified.

Doerun police arrived to check on her, Rakestraw said. He said the officer helped Cantrell out of her car only to find a white bag with a crystal substance inside and a cut blue straw with an off-white residue inside believed to be methamphetamine.

The Doerun police then called the Drug Enforcement Team to verify and Cantrell was arrested after the substance was identified.
