Camp Oo-U-La, hosted by the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation, invited the Moultrie Fire Department to attend camp this summer to meet and interact with campers and camp volunteers. Eligible campers are Georgia residents age 7 to 17 who sustained a burn injury that required treatment or hospitalization at a burn center, or non-Georgia residents who were treated in a Georgia burn center. More than 75 children were able to attend the camp this year.
The camp is free of charge for families thanks to donations made to “Give Burns The Boot” campaigns. During the visit, the Moultrie Fire Department presented a check totaling $4,427.70 to the camp from local donations made to the “Give Burns The Boot” earlier this year. More than $312,631 was raised statewide.
