United Way kicks off annual fund-raising campaign

MOULTRIE, Ga. — The United Way of Colquitt County kicked off its annual campaign Aug. 9 at the Myrtis Ndawula Event Center at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council.
Representatives from companies and agencies attended to learn about United Way and to receive their materials for the campaign.
Darin Wentworth, the current board chair for United Way thanked all the volunteers for their willingness to work on this campaign. This one campaign provides funding for 33 programs at 20 different agencies and additional resources for UW partner agencies – Day of Action, new trainings and more.
The United Way will hold a new family-friendly fundraiser, Taste of the Town, on Sept. 19 on the Courthouse Square. More information and tickets are available online at www.uwccga.org/taste.
Bill Bishop, with Colquitt Regional Medical Center, is the campaign chair, and the goal this year is $555,000. The theme for the Campaign is “One Community, One Vision – 2020.”
