MOULTRIE, Ga. – Thursday, Aug. 15, was National Non-Profit Day and Ameris Bank used that opportunity to volunteer at the Moultrie YMCA.
Ameris employees dedicated several hours to painting soccer goals for a busy soccer season that is quickly approaching, according to a press release from the local Y.
Tre Cohen, Moultrie YMCA sports director, thanked the Ameris team in saying, “I really appreciate our friends at Ameris for pushing through the heat and helping me get these goals painted. They look amazing and it would have taken me so much longer by myself.”
Last year, the Moultrie YMCA logged 6,220 volunteer hours, which is worth $158,174, based on the estimated national value of each volunteer hour of $25.43 per hour, the Y’s press release said. Volunteerism is vital to the success of the Moultrie Y and the many programs that work towards healthy living, youth development and social responsibility in the community.
Youth Soccer registration for boys and girls ages 3 to 13 is going on now at the Y or online at www.moultrieymca.org.
