MOULTRIE, Ga. — Jay Desselle, left, presents Dwain Walden, right, former publisher and editor of The Moultrie Observer, an award recognizing his support for the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI Moultrie held the kickoff for its NAMIWalk fundraiser Friday.
Walden, who served on the advisory board for The Archway Project, was involved in the formation of that project’s response to mental health problems in Moultrie and Colquitt County, and under his leadership, The Observer provided coverage to the problems and the groups working to solve them.
NAMIWalk will be held Oct. 19; to join the fundraiser or for more information, contact Desselle, the NAMIWalks Southwest Georgia Walk manager, at (229) 921-2071.
