MOULTRIE, Ga. — Moultrie residents seeking jobs can look forward to the Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce’s Second Annual Career Fair on Aug. 21.

The fair will host more than 25 businesses ready at-hand with applications. Chamber of Commerce President Tommie-Beth Willis said attendees should come prepared for potential job offers. After all, last year’s fair saw attendees hired on the spot.

“We’re excited to hopefully partner attendees with companies and strengthen our workforce,” she said. “We need a strong workforce. [It] helps our community grow.”

Willis said a space will be designated for completing applications at the fair. Attendees should prepare for a potentially immediate interview after turning it in.

Resumes are optional, but if you have one, Willis urges you to bring multiple copies.

“If you don’t have one, don’t let that hold you back,” she said. “If you have one, you’re welcome to bring it.”

Dress attire is also optional, but Willis offered that attendees should be prepared for in-person meetings with local and regional business representatives.

Businesses present will include the City of Moultrie, Colquitt Regional Medical Center, Destiny Industries, LLC, YMCA, Lasseter Tractor Co., Turning Point Care Center and the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority to name a few.

Attendees can also expect names from food service, healthcare, recreational, hospitality and employment industries.

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce’s mission is building a strong workforce and bridging the gap between local business and its community. Willis hopes to do both in one fell swoop.

“By providing our chamber members that are looking to add to their staff [opportunities] and [providing] opportunities for people to come find out about that is just a win for everyone,” she said.

The career fair will be located at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council building, 912 First Ave. S.E. in Moultrie. For more information, contact Jennifer Jarvis at 229-985-2131.

“Come see us,” Willis said.
