TIFTON — The Tift Tap House held its ribbon cutting on Aug. 7.

The  downtown upscale pub specializing in Georgia beers had a soft open in June for Rock the Block, and has been adding menu items and beer taps ever since.

Co-owners Michelle and Jackie Green cut the ribbon.

Michelle said that they have received a lot of support from the community and they are looking forward to offering 44 beer taps featuring majority Georgia products.

“We want to support Georgia,” she said.

The restaurant was a long time dream for the Greens.

Michelle said they looked at the things Tifton had and what they could offer and hit on the idea of a casual yet sophisticated place for a middle-aged crowd to kick back a little.

The Tift Tap House is located at 219 Main Street S. and is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
