MOULTRIE – The 8th annual Run 2 Remember will be held beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday at the Moultrie-Colquitt County Recreation Authority Complex.
There will be 10K, 5K and 1-mile runs.
Entry fees are $25 for the 10K race; $20 for the 5K race; and $15 for the 1-mile race.
Runners can register Saturday at the race site.
The 10K and 5K races start at 7 a.m. The 1-mile run begins at 7:15 a.m.
The course is paved road and running trail with minimum elevation. Head phones, jogging strollers and dogs are allowed.
All proceeds go to SHA Missions Inc., a non-profit organization developed by friends and family of Sha Wetherington, a Colquitt County High and Darton College soccer player who was killed in a car wreck in 2011 at age 22.
Locally, SHA Missions gives the annual Lady Packer Soccer Scholarship to a high school senior, provides Christmas boxes to families in need, supports the Colquitt County Humane Society and assists those in need of physical, mental, emotional or spiritual help.
The Mission’s work in Belize has also expanded. Through partnering with The Boys Country Club, a local Belize organization that teaches young boys Christian values and trade skills, and mission teams from the ISA have built four new small houses for families in desperate need.
SHA Missions also sponsors a young girl who attends Belmopan Comprehensive High School.
