MOULTRIE, Ga. — A woman died Friday night after being struck by a car that authorities say was driven by her husband.
Janet Lee Boozer, 61, died in the 3100 block of Lower Meigs Road, Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock said. An autopsy was performed Monday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Macon, he said, but no information from it was available to release.
Boozer’s husband, Craig Lamar Boozer, 56, 2691 Baypole School Road, Meigs, was charged with DUI, according to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office. He has been released on bond.
The investigation involves multiple agencies, and none of them are releasing much information as the investigation proceeds.
The Georgia State Patrol appears to be in charge of the investigation, but the investigating trooper did not return a call from The Observer.
