MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County football team will travel to Lake City, Fla., on Friday, Aug. 16, for a scrimmage against Columbia High.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Packers first-year coach Justin Rogers had lamented being unable to find a scrimmage opponent, but did finally  game against the Tigers several days ago.

Colquitt County will open the regular season at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, against North Gwinnett at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the Corky Kell Classic.

The Tigers, coached by former Florida State linebacker Brian Allen, were 10-2 last season in Florida’s Class 7A.

Since taking over at his high school alma mater in 2011, Allen has led Columbia to a 73-23 record.
