THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Thomasville police officers are trying to find the suspects behind two late Wednesday night shootings.

According to reports, officers were dispatched to a Crystal Street address at approximately 11:15 p.m. Once they arrived, they discovered a man lying in the front yard with multiple gunshot wounds. First aid was administered and EMTs continued treatment at the scene. 

Investigators arrived and began interviewing witnesses and processing the scene, said Maj. Wade Glover, Thomasville Police public information officer.

The victim was taken to Archbold Memorial Hospital and his condition is unknown.

Forty-five minutes later, officers received another call that a person had been shot. That victim was in a car at a convenience store near the intersection of North Boulevard and Madison Street.

That spot was only two blocks from the first shooting, but the victim in the second incident was not wounded there, Glover said. Officers determined the second victim was shot at Villa North apartments. 

The victim had been robbed and shot in the hand, Glover said, and then attempted to drive himself to the hospital before stopping at the store and calling 911.

Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputies also responded to both Wednesday night incidents.

Glover said police do not know if the shootings are connected but both are ongoing and active investigations. A suspect has not been identified in either shooting.

“We are aggressively searching for answers,” Glover said.

The TPD also is asking for the community’s help in solving these crimes and in potentially preventing further shootings. Should anyone know any information or hear of anything that might happen, they are asked to call the TPD at 226-0101.

“It is important that we let our community know that although these shootings are a tragedy, it is a community issue, not only a law enforcement issue,” Glover said. “We at the police department are working closely with members of our community in an effort to combat some of these shootings.”
