Undercover officers had bought crack cocaine from the residence over the preceding two or three weeks, sheriff’s investigator Channing McDowell said Wednesday.

Adams, 38, was charged with possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of a drug-related object and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II drug, cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy.

Lewis, 30, was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Three children were in the home, and the Division of Family and Children Services was notified, McDowell said.

In the second case, McDowell said a confidential informant had purchased marijuana at an apartment at 424 30th St. S.E., the residence of Michael Washington.

A search warrant was executed at the residence Tuesday evening, June 25.

Washington, 26, and Deanna Allen were both charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a drug-related object and two counts of reckless conduct.

Investigators found marijuana packaged for sale and the materials to package it, McDowell said. They also recovered $3,760 in cash, including the specific bills the informant had used to purchase the marijuana.

Two small children were in the residence, McDowell said, and they’re why Washington and Allen were charged with reckless conduct. Adams and Lewis may face other charges related to the children in their home as well, pending the results of lab tests, he said.
