Moultrie WinShape Camp held its fifth year of camp last week at Willie J. Williams Middle School.

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Moultrie WinShape Camp held its fifth year of camp June 3-7 at Willie J. Williams Middle School.

Three hundred and five campers in kindergarten through eighth grade attended camp this year. Forty-six of those campers requested to continue follow up conversations about Christ after camp and 13 campers received salvation, according to Susan Whiddon, one of the organizers.

It has been five years since Whiddon and Stephen Adcock sat on the bench in front of Beans & Strings looking at an information brochure about WinShape Camp and said, “We can do this!” They talked to pastors from area churches to make sure they had enough support. With the approval of the Titus Ranch board of directors, they made plans to move forward in order to bring WinShape Camp to Moultrie. They created Moultrie WinShape Team which now consist of Josh Wilson (First Baptist Church of Moultrie, Church Host), Charlotte Strange (Chick-fil-A), Susan Whiddon and Judy Plymel (Titus Ranch) and Ellen Tucker (community member).

“Moultrie WinShape Camp has had three host churches: Heritage Church, First Methodist Church of Moultrie and First Baptist Church of Moultrie,” Whiddon said. “It has always been the vision for the Moultrie camp to be a community outreach and a camp for all area churches. Plans are being discussed regarding next year’s camp host.”

Moultrie WinShape Camp is made possible with the help of a large team of volunteers and the support of many organizations, businesses and individuals including Superintendent Doug Howell and the Colquitt County School System, Jim Horne at Willie J. Williams Middle School, the Rev.. Wayne Woods and Josh Wilson at First Baptist Church of Moultrie, and Wesley Rogers and Charlotte Strange of Moultrie Chick-fil-A.
