Boom truck accident leads to downtown power outage

- Nearly 2,200 in Live Oak are without power following an accident involving a boom truck in downtown.
LIVE OAK, Fla. — An accident Monday afternoon involving a boom truck has thousands without power in the City of Live Oak.
According to Will Starling, safety and training officer with the Live Oak Fire Department, an employee with a roofing company performing work in downtown Live Oak attempted to move the truck when the crane hit a power line.
Starling said the line was one of the main feeders for the city.
According to Florida Power and Light, nearly 2,200 customers in Live Oak are affected and power isn’t expected to be restored until 4:30 p.m.
Nobody was injured in the accident.
Linemen from Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative were on scene to assist LOFD until FPL was able to arrive.
