A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy said the mobile home was fully involved when he arrived.

The residence belonged to Lizzie Woodard, who drove up while volunteer firefighters were battling the blaze. She told the deputy there was no one else in the residence except her small dog.

The deputy said the dog died in the fire. All the contents of the home were destroyed, he said.

He said the firefighters couldn’t give a definite cause for the fire.

The Red Cross was summoned to help Woodard with short-term living arrangements.
