MOULTRIE, Ga. – Sterling Physician Group recently announced a change in physicians. Dr. David Waller will be departing Sterling Group Cardiology on May 31.

“I would like to thank Dr. Waller for his many significant contributions and service during his tenure at Colquitt Regional,” said Colquitt Regional CEO and President Jim Matney. “We are very grateful for his years of dedication to our community.”

Waller started at Colquitt Regional in August 2005 and since then has worked in various positions within the hospital. He served as Chief of Medicine from 2011-2013 and Chief of Staff from 2014-2016.

Prior to his time at Colquitt Regional, Waller practiced at Cardiac Disease Specialists at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Ga. His career also includes work at Diagnostic Cardiology Associates in Jacksonville, Fla., from 2003-2004, Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Ga., from 2000-2003, and South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta from 1993-2000, where he began his career in Cardiology.

“It is with a deep sadness that I announce my resignation from Sterling Group Cardiology,” said Waller. “It has truly been an honor and a privilege to have served each and every patient during my 14 years in Moultrie and Colquitt County.”

“Dr. Waller has been a huge asset to our hospital through his expert care and service to our organization,” said Hospital Authority Chairman Maureen A. Yearta, Ed.D. “While Dr. Waller will be missed, we wish him well on his future endeavors.”

Cardiology services are still provided by Sterling Physician Group. Dr. Pallavi Luthra with Sterling Group Cardiology and Dr. Lawrence Ukpong with Ukpong Cardiology Services are currently accepting new patients. Working alongside these physicians are, respectively, Ben McLeod, FNP-C and Julie Posey, NP-C.
