MOULTRIE, Ga. — Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church at 501 8th St. N.W. will observe its annual youth crusade at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, May 27-29.
Guest speaker for this event is Pastor Napoleon S. Cooper Sr.
Cooper, son of Gilbert and Sharon Sims, was born in Moultrie. He was educated in the Colquitt County public school system. He furthered his education at Morehouse College in Atlanta.
As a youth, Cooper was raised in a godly home by godly parents and served in many capacities at Friendship Baptist Church Moultrie, Ga., according to a press release from Live Oak MBC. At an early age he answered the call of God into the ministry. He was ordained as a Baptist minister in August of 1997 at Springfield Baptist Church, Hawkinsville, Ga.
Cooper is a member of the National Baptist Convention USA Inc. He is also a member of the General Missionary Baptist Convention Of Georgia Inc. He serves as the late night chairman for Second District under the leadership of Pastor E. Terrell Carter.
“God’s hand and anointing is evident in his ministry,” the church said. “His oratorical gift and unique but practical delivery of the Word of God has enabled him to preach, teach, reach and serve this present age.”
Cooper was installed February 2015 at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, where he now serves as senior pastor.
The Rev. J. W. Greene Jr. is the pastor of Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
