MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Norman Park man was injured when his pickup truck struck a house on Highway 111 Saturday night.
The Georgia State Patrol said Juan Salazar-Jiminez, 55, was driving a 2001 Ford pickup east on Dunn Road about 11:30 p.m. A witness told the trooper that the pickup “blew through” the stop sign at the intersection of Dunn Road and Highway 111.
The driver lost control of the pickup, the GSP said. It crossed both lanes of the highway, and the front right side of the truck hit the house at 357 Highway 111, owned by Victor Patillo.
Salazar-Jiminez was transported by Colquitt Regional EMS to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, the GSP said. A hospital spokeswoman said she had no information on him.
The trooper charged Salazar-Jiminez with failure to maintain lane, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving under the influence, open container in vehicle and driving without a license on his person.
The state patrol said he was not wearing a seat belt, but he was not charged with that offense.
