The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority will hold a called meeting of its Executive Committee at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, to discuss wording of a memorandum of understanding, pool renovation funding and personnel issues.

National Guard reunion

FITZGERALD, Ga. — Former members of the Fitzgerald National Guard Unit will be having their reunion 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Paulk Park in the old Depot Building, 152 Paulk Park Road. Spouses or significant other and members from other units that worked with the Fitzgerald unit are invited and welcome to attend. BIG Little River Paddle Race

REED BINGHAM STATE PARK — Friends of Reed Bingham State Park and the WWALS Watershed Coalition are sponsoring the BIG Little River Paddle Race Saturday, April 27, at Reed Bingham State Park.

Tickets are $30 and available at the event registration, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday at Red Roberts Landing, on Rountree Bridge Road. You can rent boats at Reed Bingham State Park (reservation required), and there is a park entrance fee of $5.

The mass start will be at 9:30 a.m. It can take two hours for everybody to paddle down to Reed Bingham State Park Boat Ramp (West), after which participants will have lunch at about noon, with silent auction, followed by the awards. There is a cash prize and a trophy for first place, and medals for all the other winners.

The event is a fundraiser for the two sponsoring organizations.
