MOULTRIE – Colquitt County High’s boys and girls tennis teams took second place Wednesday at the Region 1-7A championships held at Packer Park. Both teams won the semifinal matchups they had 3-2 and earned a home contest in the first round of the GHSA 7A playoffs that begin next week.

But in Wednesday’s 1-7A finals, both team matches ended with three straight victories by the side opposite the Packers. Camden County won first place in girls and Lowndes in boys.

Coaches Mell Wier and Amber Hurst said the state first round needs to be played by Wednesday and that they are going to push for a Tuesday playing date.
