Colony Bank names Mike Harris its Moultrie market president

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colony Bank recently announced the promotion of Michael Harris to market president for Moultrie.

Harris joined Colony Bank in 2016 and has more than 18 years of banking and financial management experience, with most of that time devoted to serving the Colquitt and Mitchell County areas. With his passion for helping small businesses and individuals achieve their financial goals, Harris has developed long-lasting relationships with his customers, according to a press release from Colony Bank.

An alumnus of Thomas University in Thomasville with a business/finance degree, Harris has continued to hone his financial, insurance and retirement planning skills throughout his career, graduating from the Georgia Banking School and LSU Graduate School of Banking. He also received his insurance license and earned Series 6 and 63 securities licenses to further broaden his financial background.

With almost two decades of banking experience and a commitment to building long-term relationships on a strong foundation of trust and experience, he brings a deep knowledge of banking tools and products as well as keen insight into how to utilize them in ways that best benefit our customers.”

 Harris and his wife, Sara, have three children, Carly, Cooper and Crosby.  He spends time as a volunteer and coach for his children’s extracurricular activities, including basketball, baseball and equestrian events.  He has been active with civic organizations, serving as a member of the Lee County Chamber Board, and is a past member of Rotary, Kiwanis, and the 2018 class of Locate South Georgia Leads. He and his family attend The Church at the Groves in Leesburg. Harris is also co-owner of the family business, Harris Livestock, LLC, a home-grown Black Angus Cattle operation located in Thomas and Lee Counties.
