TIFTON — Children from Tift County came together to participate in the 2019 Tift County Special Olympics on Mar. 22.

The event, which began with the traditional parade of athletes, was held at the E.B. Hamilton Complex.

Participants competed in multiple events, including several new events like cup stacking. Other events included bounce houses, fishing, soccer, bowling, noodle ball, parachute games, dancing, face painting, target throwing, basketball, water shoot and bean bag toss.

Each participant received a new pair of athletic shoes, a t-shirt designed by students at Eighth Street Middle School, and lunch. At the end of the day, everyone got a medal and a trophy.
