State park to present spring break family event
CHATSWORTH, Ga. — Fort Mountain State Park presents “Family Fun on a Budget Over Spring Break at Fort Mountain” April 4-7. During these days, there will be children’s fishing, games, crafts and the Imagination Playground from noon to 4 p.m. Over the weekend, offerings include archery, a scavenger hunt, hikes, crafts, games and a family movie on the lawn. Costs range from free to $10 for archery. Call the park for more details at 706-422-1932.
Wiregrass Farmers Market opens April 6 at ABAC’s Georgia Museum of Agriculture
TIFTON, Ga. — Choose from farm fresh items ranging from eggs to produce at the Wiregrass Farmers Market when it opens for a ninth season at 9 a.m. on April 6 at the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Georgia Museum of Agriculture. Museum liaison Polly Huff said free range eggs, small-batch fresh roasted coffee, locally grown meats, fresh produce, artisanal breads and baked goods, homemade jams and jellies, goat cheeses, cold-pressed oils, and honey will all be offered directly by their producers. Rhonda & the Relics, Fair Game to perform at Music Hall
LIVE OAK, Fla. — Rhonda & the Relics and Fair Game bands will both be rocking the Music Hall at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park this weekend with great music. Also happening this week from Wednesday through Sunday is the RVillage Rally 2.0 national rally with live music, seminars, discussion groups, vendors, The New Christy Minstrels, Fire Sculptures, book signings, product demos and much more. Rhonda & the Relics is a new band to the SOSMP but has developed a following of fans over the last year as this great band has entertained several times in the Music Hall. It’s time to get those dancing shoes out and be in the Music Hall for another great night of music, fun, good, dancing and music. Rhonda and the Relics like to play many genres of great music such as classic rock, blues, R&B, country, pop and Americana. This Alma, Georgia, rockin’ band’s members are Rhonda Bennett, John Bennett, Mark Hand, Charles Whitley and Mike Lauthan. Saturday night will be sensational with Fair Game on the Music Hall stage rockin’ the rafters. When Fair Game Band takes the Music Hall Stage you will know a great band has come to the SOSMP. Fair Game is one of the best bands around, fans say. Fair Game is also described as one of the most dynamic and energy driven bands in North Florida. Based in Gainesville, Fair Game travels throughout Florida and South Georgia playing classic Southern rock, R&B, country and more. Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday for dinner, music begins at 8 p.m. Free admission to the Music Hall both nights.
