A Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputy was run over Tuesday night by a fleeing vehicle, a sheriff’s office spokesman said.

A back-up deputy fired two shots. The driver was taken into custody.

The injured deputy was treated and released at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
