Colquitt Regional’s Tim Sizemore named Engineer of the Year

- Tim Sizemore, director of operations and safety officer for Colquitt Regional Medical Center, was recently named Engineer of the Year by the Georgia Society for Healthcare Engineers.
MOULTRIE, Ga. – Colquitt Regional recently announced that Tim Sizemore, director of facility operations and safety officer, was the recipient of the 2018 Georgia Society for Healthcare Engineers Engineer of the Year award.
Each year, the of GASHE Board of Directors gather to vote on who they think is the member within the society who exemplifies leadership within the organization and their place of work. The Georgia chapter has a pool of more than 140 members to choose from, according to a press release from Colquitt Regional.
Board members take numerous characteristics into consideration when choosing the Engineer of the Year. Among those characteristics are engineers who: provide educational opportunities, facilitate activities to develop healthcare engineering skills, lead forums on healthcare issues, and serve as conduits between the society and other organizations.
“Receiving this award was a huge surprise as there were so many other engineers within the society who were just as deserving,” said Sizemore. “I am truly humbled and honored to be recognized as Engineer of the Year. I am so thankful to be part of such an amazing group of men and women within the GASHE.”
Sizemore has been Director of Facility Operations at Colquitt Regional since 2015 and joined the GASHE the same year. In 2017, Sizemore was nominated to serve on the GASHE Board of Directors. He currently holds the position of secretary, but will take over as president-elect of the society in June 2019.
Colquitt Regional CEO and President Jim Matney expressed his excitement towards Sizemore’s receipt of the award.

Colquitt Regional is a 99- bed medical center located in Moultrie.
