In this letter, the other Sumner responds to the school board’s decision to relieve head football coach Rush Propst of his coaching duties. No, I am not the person identified in Friday’s paper who seconded a motion to fire Coach Rush Propst. Never have been or wanted to be associated in any shape, form, or fashion with any secret, dictatorial organization.

Yes, I recognize quality education when I see it. The program built by Mr. Propst stands as the premiere exhibit of quality education within a mediocre county system. Having majored in Health and Physical Education, I learned the inherent value of interscholastic athletics. If properly taught, students gain skills that last a lifetime. Shame on this secret group that is obligated to serve students and the people. They have failed so far and need to come clean or get out of town.
