MOULTRIE, Ga. — Moultrie police are investigating a rash of broken windows from Sunday night — including one in which a thrown rock shattered a pane at police headquarters.

Officers received reports of damage from four businesses as well as the 128 First St. S.W. Moultrie Police Department building.

Police first responded at about 3:07 a.m. Monday to The Barbecue Pit, 311 First Ave. S.E., where the alarm at the business was triggered when a window was broken.

There police found two large holes in a plate glass window and glass scattered on the floor inside. Two rocks were found inside.

At 9:26 a.m. police were dispatched to Globe Financial, 220 First Ave. S.E., where an employee who arrived for work reported damage to an office window.

A brick was thrown through a window at Dustmade Studio, 203 First Ave. S.E., police said, and Mids Transportation, 211 First Ave. S.E., reported that a window was scratched over the weekend.

Police are trying to secure video from the businesses or nearby locations to see whether any suspects can be identified, Sgt. Shavarye Anderson said on Tuesday.

A police employee reported that upon arriving at work Monday she noticed her office window was damaged.

The exterior pane of a double-pane window of the office was broken, police said. A shattered rock that apparently had been thrown at the window was found nearby.

While conducting their investigation police arrested one teen-ager who ran from officers.
