VALDOSTA — The Downtown Valdosta Art Walk series will kickoff 6 p.m. Friday, March 15.
There will be demonstrations, pop-up shows and classes for visitors to the City Center Arts District. The district is marked by banners.
Shops will have in-store art items not normally seen during its regular week, said Rachel Thrasher, program coordinator.
Restaurants will have specialized dishes, and there will be live music, organizers said.
“It’s just encouraging people to relate Downtown Valdosta with the arts,” Thrasher said. “It’s kind of like First Friday, just not much of a party. It’s more subdued, more about the arts.”
She said Art Walk allows people to experience the art and culture in the downtown area.
Art Walk will continue May 17, Aug. 16 and Oct. 18. Visit valdostamainstreet.com for more information.
