Suspect convicted of armed robbery

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County jurors found a Moultrie man guilty in a January 2018 armed robbery, but the defendant awaits sentencing in the case and adjudication of a second case involving a robbery that occurred two days later.
The jury found Donta Perez Wilson guilty on counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery, aggravated assault and two counts possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime after a three-day trial last week. Superior Court Judge Brian McDaniel setting a sentencing date of May 1.
Wilson, 23, was accused of planning and executing the Jan. 6 hold-up at 1957 Sylvester Highway during which Marcus Thompson was robbed at gunpoint of an Apple iPhone and about $500, according to court records. A shot was fired in Thompson’s direction during the attack.
Raheem Milliner, 21, Christopher Dalton Scott, 22, and Tyran Trinidad Montgomery, 20, all entered guilty pleas in the case in May 2018.
Milliner, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit armed robbery, a reduced charge of robbery by force, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony and giving false information to a law enforcement officer, is the only one of the four who has been sentenced.
McDaniel ordered Milliner to serve an eight-year prison sentence, serve 10 years on probation, pay a $2,000 fine and perform 100 hours of community service work.
Scott and Montgomery will be sentenced later this year.
Wilson also has been indicted in the Jan. 8, 2018, robbery of the Best Little Food Store in Georgia, 615 W. Central Ave.
