Ivey seriously injured in hit-and-run

LIVE OAK, Fla. — Marlon Ivey, a Live Oak businessman, was one of two men seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 10 Tuesday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 53-year-old Ivey was headed west on I-10 in the outside lane when a vehicle attempted to pass Ivey on the outside shoulder.
The unknown vehicle passed Ivey’s Toyota Corolla, it moved into the outside lane and hit the front of Ivey’s car with its rear tire, the FHP report states.
The impact sent Ivey’s Corolla through the median and in front of a Scion TC that was headed east on I-10.
The Corolla stopped in the ditch on the south side of interstate and Ivey was transported to Lake City Medical Center in serious condition.
Joshua Martinez, a 29-year-old from Aurora, Ill., and the driver of the Scion, also was seriously injured in the accident. He was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
The vehicle that caused the accident continued west on I-10 and no witnesses were able to give a description of the vehicle.
