CUTHBERT, Ga. — The opportunity of a lifetime has been granted to Andrew College sophomore Brandon Dempsey, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major from Albany.

Dempsey has been awarded a full scholarship from the Ministry of Education in South Korea to attend Pai Chai University in Daejeon, South Korea, for two semesters, Spring and Fall 2019. The scholarship includes monthly living expenses, a support allowance, round trip airfare, medical insurance, and a tuition waiver by Pai Chai University based on the exchange agreement between Andrew College and Pai Chai University.

Dempsey, grandson of Jimmie and Geneva Sloan of Moultrie, had to meet rigorous standards for GPA, proof of personal character, and potential to academically succeed in order to win this scholarship.

Dempsey came well-recommended by his professors: “Brandon is always polite, courteous, and displays outstanding citizenship as a student here at Andrew College. Brandon sets the example for others to follow. He will without a doubt make an excellent representative for Andrew College,” commented Bob Kortbowi, program director of business administration at Andrew College.

He will take classes in Korean language and culture, and as a business major, he will have the opportunity to experience business practices through a different cultural lens.  Andrew College President Linda Buchanan said of Dempsey, “Brandon inspires others and has gained the respect of not only fellow students, but administration and faculty also.”
