Cancer fundraiser

THOMASVILLE — Early discounted registration for the 5th Annual SuperDave 5K is quickly approaching on Feb. 25. The 1-mile fun run and 5K, which will take place at the Thomas County Middle School on Saturday, March 9,  is a family, glow run event. The course is lit up with glowing balloons and markers and the walk will take place at 6:30 p.m. with the 5K run starting at 7 p.m. All runners and walkers are encouraged to wear superhero attire; a t-shirt, cape and glowing necklaces will be provided with the registration fee.

Since its inception in 2015, the David Waldron Foundation has been able to help more than 50 cancer patients, donating more than $13,000 to assist with travel accommodation, food, and treatment. In addition, the group — also called Be Dave Brave — has donated more than 500 superhero capes to children with cancer and offers additional educational information to families in need.
