Woman pulls gun during confrontation between couples

MOULTRIE, Ga. — One woman’s apparent offhand comment to her husband at a Moultrie convenience store about a couple arguing at a nearby gas pump resulted in a confrontation between the two couples in which the second woman pulled a pistol.
The dispute on Friday afternoon was among a number of violence-related episodes law enforcement agencies investigated over the President’s Day weekend.
Brenden Pollock told police that at about 10 a.m. while he and wife Holly were at Raceway, 1301 Veterans Parkway N., Friday there was another couple nearby with a Buick Encore.
When Holly Pollock made a quip to Brenden Pollock about the way the other man was talking to the woman the man told Brenden Pollock that he “needed to get his wife under control,” he told police. The two men then “had words” and the other woman got out of the Buick and pointed a gun at Holly Pollock, threatening to shoot her if she did not shut up.
Holly Pollock told police that at some point during the confrontation she made comments to the other woman, including calling her a “meth head.”
When police viewed store video, it showed the two cars at the gas pumps, the two men involved in an altercation and then the woman from the Buick walking from around the car with what appeared to be a 9 mm pistol pointed in the direction of the Pollocks’ Nissan Xterra.
In a slightly different scenario, a Moultrie couple were arrested Friday afternoon after a woman who suspected her husband of cheating confronted him at a Moultrie health facility Friday afternoon on West Central Avenue.
At about 1:53 p.m. Amelia Rojo showed up at the Moultrie Police Department building at 128 First St. S.W. and reported that her husband had attacked her at the health office.
When police spoke with all of the parties at the office, Amelia Rojo admitted hitting the other woman in the face.
Video taken at the building showed Clemente Rojo push his wife against a car and pull her hair down, police said.
Clemente Rojo, 58, and Amelia Rojo, 42, both of 1220 Ninth St., S.W., were each charged with disorderly conduct.
