Health care costs are messed up

“My doctor gave me orders to have tests done. An area hospital charged $300; a nearby office charged $40; insurance wouldn’t pay for the office to do the test. In the end, I had the test done at the hospital, insurance paid the $300 and everyone was happy with that test costing $260 extra. How messed up is that?”

Patients do pay the hospitals’ prices

“Enjoyed the healthcare article in Sunday’s Observer. The funny part was ‘Hospitals don’t like to talk about these inflated prices, and they dismiss them with “Nobody pays that anyway,”’ she said. Really? REALLY? On which planet is that? Patients DO pay those inflated prices. Read your bill. They’ll put a lien on your property if you don’t pay. That’s reality.”

Magnolia Sports complex bathrooms need help

“When will we see anything done to improve the bathrooms at Magnolia Sports Complex and the men’s softball fields? They need help. A lot of visitors at both venues during tournaments.”

Responsible use of guns

“My friends and I use guns responsibly. What’s to have a ‘conversation about gun violence’ about? Your desire to talk means you want us to concede something. Are you willing to likewise concede? That’s called compromise. We will not simply sit down and let you impose gun control on us while we remain meekly silent. That’s your true goal.”

Mass shooting doesn’t fit gun control narrative

“A mass shooting in Illinois in another ‘gun-free zone.’ The story will quickly die because it fit Democrats’ purpose but not their narrative. A disgruntled worker shot and killed 5 but he wasn’t conservative. Background checks, multiple arrests, etc. didn’t stop his gun purchase. Now come the predictable calls to ban all guns. Gun bans only affect the law abiding.”

Sermons no place to trash the president

“Our President is only human. I think a church sermon is not the place to trash our President. I get so tired of hearing what a evil man he is. Preacher look at yourself in younger days. It is called forgiving or is it two sided?”
