MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County boys soccer team scored all of its goals in the second half of a 3-0 victory at Valdosta on Tuesday that has the Packers undefeated as it heads into its Friday Region 1-7A opener at home against Camden County.
The sixth straight victory to open the season came after several adjustments were made a halftime, coach Jimbo Jarvis said.
“Valdosta came out hard and fast like we expected,” Jarvis said. “But we outlasted them. We feel like we can play with anyone right now. We just have to show up and play like we practice.
“That’s what we did in the second half – we played like we’ve been practicing.”
John Reid Jarvis got the only goal the Packers would need early in the second half. Enrique Delgado was credited with the assist.
Gilbert Velasquez made it 2-0 with Aldo Miranda getting the assist.
Freshman Jason Gallardo capped off the scoring. Reuben Gonzalez got the assist.
Kevin Rodriguez started in the nets and got the shutout.
The Packers played again without George Barber, but Jimbo Jarvis said he hoped to have him back for Friday’s match with the Wildcats.
