Pastor Tony Brown to preach Men’s Day event at Live Oak MBC

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church, 501 Eighth St. N.W., will be observing its annual Men’s Day Program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17.

This year’s theme will be “Men Created in the Image of God,” from Genesis 1:26-27. Guest speaker will be Pastor Tony Brown.

Brown is a native of Thomas County, Ga. He is the son of Jimmy and Josephine Rawls. As a child, he attended Sinner Friends, under the teaching of the Rev. W.B. Sales, pastor. With the guidance of the Rev. Estelle Arrington as a spiritual father, Brown received training in Christian education, youth ministry, Baptist Church ordinance, pastoral-ship, budgeting and financing. He became a licensed minister in November 2008 (Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church, Meigs, Ga). He later was ordained in November 2009 (Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church, Meigs, Ga) where he also was appointed to be the associate pastor. In January, 2010, he became the pastor of St. Luke Teaching Ministries, Inc., Pelham, Ga.

Brown is currently the pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Pecan City, Albany, Ga., where he as pastored for six and a half years. He is also the co-founder and pastor of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, Bainbridge, Ga. along with his wife, Noni Brown.

Brown is a 1986 graduate of Thomas County Central High School. He received his Associate of Arts degree in psychology at Bainbridge College in 2014. He continued his education and pursued his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at Albany State University in 2016. He is currently pursuing his Master of Social Work degree.
