SHS girls finish eighth at state weightlifting final

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Suwannee took eighth place at the FHSAA Girls Weightlifting Championship Saturday at Arnold High School.
Suwannee finished with 10 points as a team. Arnold had 23 points to win the Class 1A team title.
Matti Marsee (119-pound class) and Teresa Williams (129-pound class) both finished in fourth place in their weight class. Marsee lifted 270 pounds and Williams lifted 290 pounds.
Aislinn Henry (101-pound weight class) and Ashley Robinson (110-pound class) had fifth-place finishes. Henry lifted 215 pounds total while Robison lifted 255.
It was a good finish to the season for the SHS girls team. Prior to competing at the state meet, Suwannee won its first district title and regional title in school history.
